A Rajput kshatriya, descendant of King Kala Arjun Singh Rathor who was a direct descendant of Prince Bikram Singh Rathor of Marwar of Rajasthan. Prince Bikram Singh Rathor ascended the throne of Porahat state (Present day Chakradharapur of Jharkhand) on his way to Jagannath Puri. King Kala Arjun Singh Rathor launched a battle against Chamakpur near present-day Champua Sub-divisional Headquarters adjoining Jaintgarh of Westsinghbhum District of Jharkhand. To commemorate the victory he built a mud fort at Jaintgarh on the bank of river Baitarani. The whole area of Champua was in east while Keonjhar state and Jaintgarh was in Kolhan area of Singhbhum region in Bengal Presidency. In 1916 Bihar and Odisha State was carved out of Bengal Presidency .In 1936 Odisha State was formed being separated from Bihar. After independence the Keonjhar state merged in Odisha. Jaintgarh is separated from Champua of Odisha by river Baitarani. Jaintgarh of Singhbhum district was in Bihar state. Later it came under geographical region of Jharkhand when the state of Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar.

In this way Dr.P.K Rathor has residence in Champua (Keonjhar District-Odisha) and Jaintgarh –Khuntiapada-(Westsinghbhum District Jharkhand). But he is officially a native of Champua of Keonjhar District. His family is settled at Cuttack since early sixties of 2oth century.
