Received the First prize in the Interschool General Knowledge competition in while Studying class-vii organised by ‘Raman Science Club’ Bhubaneswar in 1973.

Awarded first prize in the interschool General Knowledge competition organised by Sanskriti Vikash Sansad,Unit-VI Bhubaneswar consecutively in 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978.

Received First prize from the then Honourable Speaker Sri Satyapriya Mohanty , in interschool General knowledge competition organised by Kishore Club, Bhubaneswar in 1977.

In the year of 1977, Birla Trust, NewDelhi, organised a Scientific Debate Competition amongst all High school students of Puri district on the subject “Genetics, its potentialities and Hazards”. Participated in the competition and was awarded first prize. and represented Puri district at the State level competition.

Won First prize in “Vande Maataram” Interschool Eloquency competition, organised by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India eastern Zone on the occasion of centenary year of writing of national song, “Vande Maataram” in 1977.

Awarded second prize, at interschool Hindi debate competition on the occasion of “Hindi Divas” in 1977 organised by Odisha Hindi Bikash Samiti.

Awarded first prize in Interschool Eloquency competition on the occasion of Utakal divas from His Excellency Shri Bhagwat Dayal Sharma ( former Governer of Odisha)on 1st April 1978 at Parade Grounds(At present IndiraGandhi Park Bhubaneswar), Received ‘ Best Allrounder Student ‘ award of the school ( Govt. Boys’ High School, Unit- 8, Bhubaneswar) in 1977.

In school class examinations always placed in first position in general proficiency.

Recognizing the extra ordinary and multifarious achievements my name is recorded in record book of my school ( Govt. Boys’ High School, Unit- 8, Bhubaneswar) after obtaining large number of prizes in the state level and district level competitions in the field of Debate, Eloquency, Essay, Story writing, Composition of poems,General Knowledge and participation in all extra-curricular activities of the school.

An article on ‘Lord Parsuram’ (The mythological sixth AVATAR of lord Vishnu) was published in the school magazine in the year 1975-76.

In 1978 , was selected for National Merit Scholarship for securing high marks in HSC Examination. As father was a tax payer I could not avail to retain the scholarship. In lieu of it a merit certificate & one hundred rupees from the Ministry of Education and Culture, Govt of India (at present ministry of Human Resources Development ) was awarded.

Received “Junior Merit Scholarship” from the Education department of Govt of Odisha during 1978-80.

During 1978-80 studied I.Sc. in Bauxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Mahavidyalaya (B.J.B College) for two years.

In 1979 I participated in inter college Zonal Debate competition organised by Utkal University representing B.J.B. College and stood second amongt the competitors. The judges were leading odia literary persons, Prof. Natabar Samantaray, Sri Santanu Acharya and Hrudananda Ray. Being selected from the zonal level represented B.J.B. College in the Sri Ramachandra Bhanja memorial Oriya gold medal debate competition organised by Utkal University on 20th December 1979 as the youngest competitor amongst all participants. The judges were the renowned educationist Prof. Shatrughna Nath,leading odia story writer Sri Rajkishore Ray and Jnanapith awardee leading odia novelist Sri Gopinath Mohanty.

Received the first prize in debate and essay competition organised by Science Society, of B.J.B. College Bhubaneswar. In 1979, on 1st April which is celebrated as Utkal Divas,(Odisha was made a separate state on 1st April 1936) won 1st prize in inter college odia debate competition held at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar.The competiton was organised by Information and Public Relations Department of Govt. of Odisha on the occasion of Jagarana Barsha(For awakening of cultural and literary spirit of Odisha).

• In the year 1983,1984 & 1985 represented S.C.B. Medical College and  received  first prize in Inter College Debate and General Knowledge competition organised by Ministry of Information and  Public Relations Govt. of Odisha at Cuttack.
  
  
• In 1984, represented S.C.B. Medical College Cuttack in Inter College General Knowledge and Debate competition won first prize organise by Ekamra Sahitya Sansad Bhubaneswar.
  
  
• In 1984, received SCB Medical College Merits Scholarship for excellent academic performance.
  
  
• In 1985, two articles on socio political theme i.e, “Swaraj and Gandhiji” and “The role of Newspaper  in the development of National integration” were published in the leading daily Odia newspaper “The Samaj”.
  
  
• In 1982-83,1983-84 while studying in SCB  was highly appreciated by the invited judges for the dramatic acting talent  in the interclass one act play competition.
  
  
•  In 1984,  was one  of the technical member of the annual drama committee, of S.C.B. Medical College Cuttack for  staging of the play, “Chirantan Bartaman”.
  
  
•  In 1985,delivered  a scientific talk on the symptoms of Heart attack in a student’s seminar organised by the Academic Society of SCB Medical college Cuttack.
  
  

  In September1987 :- Joined my medical service  career at Govt. Dispensary, Pukali (Pottangi Block) Koraput and served the tribals of the locality namely Kandhas and Parajas. During my stay at Pukali I wrote a number of Odia poems.
  
  In November 1988 I joined in Champua as Asst. Surgeon Sub-Divisonal Hospital Champua,Keonjhar district.Enchanted by the beauty of sylvan setting of virgin tropical sal forest and ever youthful Baitarani river a number of poems were written.
  
  Those poems were published in two books i.e,  “ Alasi Phulara Jhalak ( 1992)” & “ Sala Phulara Pulak ( 1994)”.
  During my stay at Champua , I established a registered literary and cultural organisation the “Samanwaya Sahitya Sansad”.
  
  In 1991, delivered a talk on “Contribution of Folk literature for the development and growth of Literature” at Turumunga, Keonjhar in a Literary function organised by Uttar Odisha sahitya Samilani.
  
  Presented a paper on “Observation on the use of Folk Medicine amongst Tribals of Champua ( Keonjhar Dist) in Odisha” in a national seminar on Folk Studies,organised by National Institute of Indian Languages, Manas Gangotri, Mysore at Bhubaneswar in February 1992.
  
  1995-1996 worked at City Hospital Berhampur (GM) as Assistant Surgeon.
  
  1996-1999 P.G. Study in General Medicine M.K.C.G Medical College Berhampur.
  
  1999 Dec – 4th Jan 2005 worked as Associate Staff Physician Dept. of Endocrinology M.K.C.G. Medical College Berhampur.
  
  4th Jan 2005 – 10th Jan 2009 Lecturer in Medicine at M.K.C.G Medical college Berhampur.
  
  From 15th January 2005 at S.C.B.M.C.H Cuttack, Now working Senior Assistant Professor in Department of Medicine.

During 1991-1993 :- received SaraswatSamman and Manapatra (Literary felicitation) from the (Rajyastariya Sisusahitya samiti,Kendujhar, “ Suryasnata Sahitya sansada, Suakati, Kendujhar”, “Santhe Bhanja Sahitya Sansada, Palaspanga, Kendujhar” and “ Ahat Prajapati(Literary Organisation), Dasrathpur, Jajpur.”

2007 was felicitrated with “Sikshyaka Gauraba ” award by Cuttack Surakshya Committee for dedication as a teacher with extra ordinary skill.
